The Mothman Festival travel log

The Mothman Festival

Point Pleasant, West Virginia

Every third weekend in September, the small town of Pt. Pleasant, WV holds a festival in honor of the cryptid that plagued their town between 1966 – 1967. Your boys Jeff and Eli ventured down there to do some investigative reporting and were happy to discover this is the place to be! As soon as you cross the steel bridge into downtown you can feel the strangeness in the air.

The festival is set up all downtown with the stores all opened and many tents and vendors all along the street. Many of the local shops and restaurants have Mothman themed deals and foods. You can find awesome items with the vendors to add to your horror collection. As you make your way to the famed Mothman Statue in the park, you will pass various folks cosplaying everything from Mothman, the Men in Black and various other cryptids and things from various media. Also do not pass up on the opportunity to visit the Mothman Museum and gift shop which is a really cool opportunity to see artifacts from those fateful years, as well as the movie starring Richard Gere and pick up some awesome merch.

The weekend is also host to various paranormal speakers and also a small film festival. You can also take a tour of some of the locations where Mothman has been spotted. This will be an event your boys will recommend everyone attend.
